Guess where we spent the day today?

And guess with which child? Yep.....Anney!

As I was getting ready to get in the shower this morning I heard a loud crash so I rushed out to the family room to see blood squirting out of anney's head! She had pulled on the chord attatched to the WII and it fell off the top of the TV and took a chunk out of her forehead! Poor kid.......I grabbed some paper towels and gave Megan to my neighbor and then rushed to the ER. Anney had stopped crying and the bleeding was under control but after they looked at it she definitely needed stitches. We sat in the room for 3 1/2 hours before they came and stitched her up. Those of you who know anney, know that must of been miserable keeping her confined, no food or drink for that long. It was insane! Once they finally came, they gave me the option to stay or go....and I opted to wait outside. I don't deal well with blood or hospitals and I knew there was NO WAY I could handle watching them stitch her up. They wrapped her up super tight and had 3 doctors holding her down and then the doctor who stitched her up. It only took them about 10 minutes but Anney screamed and screamed while they did it. I could hear her yell mommy, daddy and B (binkie) through the WHOLE ER! After I walked in and picked her up she told the doctor thank you and BYE! It was so cute! She charmed everyone in the er, she brought such a fun bright spirit to their day. The ER is not the most upbeat place and Anney made everyone's day!

So that was our fun day.....She already had a burn and huge bump/bruise on her face from other incidents on Saturday so this just added to it! I'm sure this won't be the last time we are in the Er with this kid, but hopefully this will be it for our family this year. I started thinking this is the third set of stitches for us this year....that's a little too often!

When I take the band aid off tomorrow I will post pictures of our little cutie!

Grandma Ferrin's Birthday Week!!!

Happy 63rd Birthday Grandma Ferrin!! Grandma was out of town for her birthday so we celebrated this past week. On Sunday night Aunt Shari made yummy brownies and made the candles in the shape of a #63. Right before we were about to sing Shari told the kids to SING as LOUD as they POSSIBLY could! Travis and Spencer really got into it and were SCREAMING the Happy Birthday Song as loud as they could. It was HILARIOUS!!! After we finished screaming Chase jumped across the counter to blow out all of her candles...it was so cute! We love grandma and appreciate her always being such a good sport!

I asked each of my kids 1 thing they love about grandma Ferrin and these were their responses:

Travis: She takes me shopping on my birthday and always has yummy treats on Sunday night.
Taylor: She makes Sunday nights SUPER fun and she sets a good example.
Megan: She's nice and really pretty
Anney: Would say....she lets me DESTROY her house and doesn't get mad at me like my mommy does!!

On Friday we went to lunch for her birthday and my Sister In Law's Julie's birthday. We went to Red Robin and had a great time!

Happy Birthday Grandma Ferrin.....we love you and appreciate all you do for us! Thanks for always "being" there for us and making us laugh everyday with you! We truly do LOVE YOU THE MOST!!!!

{Ward Campout}

This past weekend our ward headed up to Kinder Springs for our ward Campout. We had such a great time and had 26 families there! That is awesome and such a great turnout. Everyone had SO much fun and the weather was AWESOME! My kids loved sleeping in a tent. Since we bought our toyhauler almost 2 years ago, we haven't slept in a tent, so this was a HUGE treat to them! We even had to buy a tent for this campout! We got there about 5 p.m. on Friday night and got our RIBS started right away so we could eat soon. They were delicious. Randy cooked them in his new outdoor cooker and they were so moist and tender! On Saturday we had so much fun just hanging out and playing tons of games! The favorite was TUG of War with the men and the kids LOVED the bubble blowing and water balloon contests!

Here are some fun pictures......

{family updates} and a RECIPE!

Well we've had a million things going on, so I thought I'd write everything down so I can remember.....

First of all can I say how GRATEFUL I am that I used to scrapbook all the time and how much I realize I need to keep it updated.............The other morning at 7:10 I realized Travis hadn't finished his ELP homework that was due that day.....They only have ELP once a week so he's given the homework on Tuesdays and it's due the following Tuesday...well he didn't finish!! It happened to be a whole assignment on his timeline and writing down an event or two that happened each year he has been alive.....At first I thought I can't think this fast, but we went and pulled out the scrapbooks and it was a piece of cake and really fun to look back. We had so much remembering his soccer team when he was 4 and his stitches at the age of 3, etc. So I'm committing myself to get back to scrapbooking.....otherwise we are in trouble when he's asked to remember events that happened after he turned 8!!!

As far as other exciting or non exciting things that happen here.....

Saturday night we went with my parents to the ASU football game. We had a fun time and they won! I LOVE baseball and basketball games, but football and hockey games do bore me!!!

Sunday was church and get this......I ATTENDED choir for the first time in YEARS!! I'll be honest I DON"T enjoy singing! I'm not a terrible singer but I just don't enjoy singing. Well the choir director is a good friend of mine so I thought It's time to support her!! It would be hard to be the choir director and have to beg people to come so you can do your calling.......kinda like me begging people to come to Enrichment, etc. So I've decided to support her and my ward and start attending choir!! SO any of you in my ward that read this.....Choir is at 11:45 on Sunday!!!

Sunday night we fed my family dinner. We had ribs, chicken, potatoes, rolls and corn. For dessert we had homemade Apple Crisp and ice cream~! Randy bought a new outdoor type cooker so we wanted to try it out....It was awesome and we cooked 6 racks of ribs in 1 hour!!

As far as other exciting things....Travis has started "fall baseball" and he LOVED it. The girls are both in dance classes and Anney just destroys our house and herself with markers all day long!

We are alive and doing well.....

Here is the recipe for the APPLE GOODIE!!!

Apple Goodie

2 cups of peeled, cubed, or sliced apples
3/4 c. sugar
1 T.. flour
1/8 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. cinnamon

Stir the above ingredients in a large bowl with the apples and put in an 8*8 baking dish. In a separate bowl combine the following ingredients:

1/2 c. oatmeal 1/8 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. brown sugar 1/8 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. flour 1/4 c. melted butter

Pour the melted butter over the above ingredients and stir. This is your topping. It will be crumbly. Sprinkle topping over apple mixture and bake at 375 for 35-40 minutes. This is really yummy with ice cream or whip cream over the top.

Megan's First Day of Preschool!!!

Today was the first day of preschool at Miss Christi's Preschool. Megan was so excited to go again to school...she's been counting down the days until it started. There is a cute little boy that is her best friend and they are so happy to be able to go to preschool together! Aren't they so cute?

Megan with her new little bag her teacher gave her!

Her new outfit!

Megan, Bo and Anney all outside before we left for school!

Such cute friends! Last year on the first day of preschool we have the same picture of them together but they are holding hands...they wanted NOTHING to do with that!

Megan in front of Miss Christi's house!

Anney was so sad she didn't get to go.....she cried for 30 minutes...Poor thing! I hope it's not like this everyday!!

Busy Busy weekend!!!

Friday night I suprised Randy with a fun over night getaway!! I sent him an email about 3 oclock asking him if he wanted to go with me this weekend to the diamondback game, then to a resort and then shopping and fun all day on Saturday. Of course he replied heck ya and was thrilled! We had such a good time. The game was a great game, the hotel was nice and Saturday morning we went to TC Eggingtons for breakfast! If you've never been there....GO!! It is so good. We went shopping after that and went to The Scottsdale Running Company to get Randy some new running shoes for his new found love of running! Like I said we had a great time and had so much fun together~

Saturday night we had our ward swim party at Brimhall Pool so that was a ton of fun for the kids!

This is what our sweet Anney looks like after almost every meal! She is such a messy eater. She's never once let us feed her so she looks like this all the time! As you can tell, she loves it and doesn't care. This meal was ramen noodles, Trix yogurt and strawberries!

we did a HUGE remodel the end of last summer which included a brand new kitchen. Well the backsplash is all that was needed to complete it. Randy and I never could really decide or know what we wanted. This past weekend we went over to Arizona Tile and they had just redid a section of their showroom with this new backsplash. We both fell in love with it and bought it that day. Randy has been working on it quite a bit, we have the other side of the kitchen to finish and then we will grout it and put an enhancer on it that will make it a little darker and have a shine. so when it's complete, I'll post the finished product!

Have a great week everyone! Today was the first day of dance for Megan and Taylor and tomorrow megan starts preschool!!!
